A rural Lemoore area roadway saw its second collision within three days.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. Monday, Susie Flores, 33, of Lemoore, was traveling westbound on Hanford-Armona Road, just east of 17th Avenue, in her white 2005 Nissan Sentra when she fell asleep, said California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Krahn. He said the speed limit there is 55 mph. Flores was thought to be driving within that limit.
According to Krahn, Flores reported that she was tired and fell asleep. Her vehicle drifted across the opposing lane and onto the dirt shoulder, which woke her up, the CHP reported. Flores was wearing her seat belt and there were no passengers in the car.
“She realized she was on the wrong side of the road and swerved the car to the right,” Krahn said.
Krahn said that during the accident, Flores almost hit two other vehicles, a van and a car.
Flores eventually slid sideways, striking a white wooden fence and rolling her vehicle over onto its left side. The car, which ended up on private property, was pushed upright by passersby.
The CHP reported that Flores had no injuries.
A moderate-injury accident occurred Saturday on Hanford-Armona Road at 17th Avenue when the driver of a Toyota Avalon failed to stop at the four-way-stop intersection.
