Fleetwood Mac's Buckingham comes to Hanford

Lindsey Buckingham, 1970's pop star and vocalist/guitarist of Fleetwood Mac, will perform at the Hanford Fox Theatre at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The 58-year-old native of Palo Alto is on tour to promote his most recent solo album, "Under the Skin."

Buckingham, who wrote and produced several Fleetwood Mac hits including "Go Your Own Way," "Go Insane," and "Big Love," joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975.

He left the band in 1987 before the tour for the band's fifth album, "Tango in the Night."

"Under the Skin" is Buckingham's first solo release in 14 years, according to a biography on the National Public Radio Web site. Buckingham wrote the majority of the album while on tour for "Say You Will" in 2003.
Rolling Stone gave "Under the Skin" four out of five stars and included it in its top 50 albums of 2006.

"With its skewed pop melodies, home-brewed sonic trickery and blazing fingerpicking, 'Under the Skin' is a mesmerizing return to the side of Buckingham that birthed the proto-indie-pop strangeness of 1979's 'Tusk,'" according to a 2006 Rolling Stone review.
