Groefsema accurate in Coyotes' triumph

FRESNO - Former Lemoore High standout Clay Groefsema completed 16 of 20 passes and threw for five touchdowns as the Central Valley Coyotes edged the Lubbock Renegades 74-68 in an afl2 game Saturday night at Selland Arena.
Groefsema, one of afl2's leading passers, threw for 230 yards and also ran for a touchdown as the Coyotes moved to 5-4.
Groefsema's 5-yard TD run gave the Coyotes a 68-62 lead with 40 seconds left, but Lubbock (4-6) tied the game on a 1-yard touchdown rush by Robert Kent with 4 seconds to play.
The Coyotes won the game when Aleric Hines returned to ensuing kickoff 50 yards for a touchdown for the second time in the game.
Kent passed for 363 yards and seven touchdowns and also ran for two TDs.
Central Valley plays at Bakersfield next Sunday at 3 p.m.
