It's time for a change
Editor: The Hanford City Council is out of control. We, the residents of Hanford ,no longer have control over the instruments we have created. The Hanford City Council has been taken over by out-of-town developers, Marquez Brothers, city department heads, Hanford Planning Commission and their own special interests.
We the residents no longer have a voice in our destiny; the city council seems to think that we do not know what is best for us.
The council decided that we no longer needed Fifth Street open to 11th Avenue.
They decided that we need an ethanol plant that is going to have a negative impact on our quality of life.
They have approved development after development without any consideration as to what we the community want.
It is time for us residents to take back control of our city government.
We can wait for the next election and elect leaders who will listen to us or we can consider more drastic measures such as recall. The choice is ours.
