Invite into rural house turns violent for local man

After being beaten, partially stripped of his clothes and abandoned in rural Kings County, a Lemoore man is currently recovering from his injuries at Hanford Community Medical Center after being led into a trap Tuesday night by a woman known only as "Lala."

Isodoro Lopez, 44, was leaving the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore when the woman approached him and asked for a ride home to Stratford, offering to pay for his trouble. The victim agreed to go and, once there, was lured into her house, where two men reportedly assaulted him and beat him unconscious using their hands, feet, and possibly a baseball bat.

Lopez was driven out near the intersection of 21st and Jackson avenues in a blue Chevrolet pickup and abandoned at 1:30 this morning

He was later seen screaming for help by a passing motorist, who reported it to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies arrived to find Lopez wearing only underwear, socks and a T-shirt. He suffered multiple bruises, scrapes, scratches and abrasions in the assault.

The Sheriff's Department is looking for additional information about this crime. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Deputy Dave Morrell at 582-3211, ext. 2790.

The reporter can be reached at 583-2425.

" This is a no brainer... someone will go to jail for this one. I'm sure that Mr. Lopez knows where the house is; just go after the residents... if they didn't do it, they know who did.

I'm beating this was a set up from the start. This "Lala" probably staked him out at the Palace; probably after seeing him win a lot of money or with a lot of money on his possession.

Hopefully Mr. Lopez wasn't doing something he should not of been doing in the first place. Regardless... get well soon Mr. Lopez. "

" If this was an unsuspecting victim who was trying to help someone in need thats one separate issue regardless of where this incident or encounter developed. Nobody has to be a victim or be justified being a victim due to where your at. For way to many years people had that same ignorant thinking when it came to women being sexually assaulted, some would say well if they didnot dress like that it wouldnt happen. Thats stupid.. Criminals dont care where or when anymore ther more bold and dont care.If this was a money for sex arrangement gone bad thats another issue totally, but it still doesnot give one the right to make another a victim. " Oracle, you state the deputies are forbidden from looking for stolen vehicles at the Palace. Where, please tell us, did you get such erroneous information? "

" To "What".....Erroneous...NOT Your attempt to draw me out doesnt work. I know what I know. Its a fact, however the order may have been rescinded by now. But it WAS an order.."Do not go out there and run cars looking for stolens...Its not our job, it's CHP's." Problem was that deputies were making TONS of arrests, weapons finds, drugs, stolen cars, pursuits, and it was making the Palace look bad....and they have the clout (read $$) to make waves. So the deputies were told to patrol somewhere else. So the analogy is this..All of the crooks, crime and stolen cars are there, so we want to to patrol somewhere else. Yeah, they were incredulous as well. Truth is stranger than fiction. But truth it is....Ask about the video of the short pursuit in the parking lot with a stolen car and armed suspects...Vehicle flipped over in the parking lot...Dont tink it ever even made the paper. HMMMMM wonder why? "

" To Disgusted: The story pretty much implies that he was robbed by stating that he was found in his underwear. Robbery does not have to involve money being taken but I bet it was in this case. Robbery is the felonious taking of personal property in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, and against his will, accomplished by means of force or fear. I think that it is safe to assume that he didn't strip to his underwear on his own. I think he had a little help getting there. Hopefully these subjects will be arrested soon before anyone else falls victim to their ploy. "

" ...Why is the howling coyote on the side of the fire truck? Its because the palace bought it. Its supposed to go inside the new fire station that is/was going to be built next to the palace, also at palace expense. So I guess the lesson is that if you have the money to buy fire trucks and build stations, you too can have personal fire protection next to your house. They tried the same thing with the Sheriffs office, but credit to Marvin, he said absolutely not. And let us nt forget that they STILL owe money to the two deputies ambushed and shot out there. They have refused to pay the lawsuit they lost, claiming "sovereign Immunity." Yet they DO pay off crime victims on what they lost to being robbed, etc..In this way, people dont have bad things to say about the place. Good business, but call it what it is...hush money. They could give away free corvettes and I wouldnt step foot on the place without a gun in each pocket. Take it from someone who knows..or dont at your own peril "

" When I worked the ambulance services here in Kings Co. We had to wait for a deputy to escort us to the call. Usually had to deal with someone stabbing someone else. Safe. I think not. "

CC Watchdog wrote on May 6, 2008 10:34 AM:

" To Oracle - just out of curiousity was this order to not patrol the Palace a Command level decision? Did this come directly from the Sheriff himself, in other words? Cause if it did, the Sheriff just lost two very large supporters in this community. It is my understanding that drug busts were prevelant at the Palace every night almost. I've heard the employees have been told to look the other way but didn't know the Sheriff Deputies were called off too. If the tribe wants to turn that place in to a Drug Haven we can all just stay away and let that happen on it's own. The only reason I went out there is because I knew the Deputies took care of business out there.
As for the soverign part the only time that comes out is when they are paying money instead of receiving money. "

CC Watchdog wrote on May 6, 2008 10:38 AM:

" I think perhaps Mr. the so called victim was looking for a little luvluv from LaLa and got caught with his pants down. That's my first conclusion in reading the story. So Buyer Beware when trolling for fish you just might catch more than your limit. "
