We stand beside Dave Hawk
Editor: We, the Session, the governing board of Lemoore Presbyterian Church, have absorbed with sadness the news concerning the arrest of our colleague, friend and parishioner, David Hawk.
We will not comment on the charges levied when the arrest was made except to say the following:
1. We are confident that there has been no time while Dave has been present as a member of this church, in worship and at other events, when any part of this church family has had any reason to be concerned because of his presence.
2. We believe in the American principle of justice that one is considered innocent until proven guilty, and until it is proven otherwise we, the Session, will continue to believe in his innocence on all charges.
We will be praying for Dave and for justice as this case proceeds.
3. Dave is a member and officer of our church family and we love him. We will stand beside him through this whole process no matter what happens.
We invite you to pray with us for him and for his children.
We do not know what the future holds for Dave, but we know who holds the future.
The best leadership we can offer is to encourage you to pray, to listen to God, to seek God's best for our life together.
