Veterans Corner: Respect for the flag

U.S. Flag Code is federal law, providing rules for the proper display, treatment and respect of Old Glory. Enforcement of the Flag Code is most often conducted through education. A change to Section 9 of the U.S. Flag Code written into the Defense Authorization Act this year now gives veterans and members of the Armed Forces the authority to render a salute to the flag, whether or not they are in uniform.
