Who's the right one?

Editor: Have you ever tried to call your councilman? Is it me or do they never answer their phone? I tried to call my councilman and as usual he did not answer his phone.

I want to ask current councilmembers their opinion on candidates. So I called Councilman Thomas, though I really didn't want to. I asked him who he likes out of all the candidates, and I got the answer I expected, he told me and I quote, "None of your business, none of mine, let the people decide." Then he hung up on me and I expected that too I am as stubborn as he is, so I called him right back, he then said and I quote, "Look you pint size wanna be political critic, if you really have to know and if I lived in Marcie Buford's district, I would vote for Sue Sorenson. I asked him why and for a half hour he told me why including she is the most qualified.

Because of the tremendous amount of respect I have for Councilman Thomas and for the candidates, I have to do the right thing, so at this time I would like to publicly apologize to Sue Sorenson. And although I still support John Murrisky, I feel that the race between Murrisky and Sorenson will be a close one. And I feel both of them would do a good job for the people of Hanford. So in closing, with Murrisky or Sorenson, the people of Hanford can't lose. Good luck to them both.

" Rusty you sure are busy. Is it you intention to follow your cousin Dave in Hanford politics? Did you ever find a place to live here in town? Sounds like you are doing better than when we first met and you introduced me to your cousin the councilman at the church soup kitchen!

Well Rusty you keep writing and I'll keep reading. Say how do these two feel about a mens homeless shelter in Hanford? I don't need to tell you how bad we need one.

I think you should stand on your opinions, you make far more sense than your cousin. Can't he speak for himself? "

" To Councilman Thomas, even though you were elected by the people of your district, I remind you that you are serving the city of Hanford and all of her citizens. I'm reminded of your comment over the ethynol plant when you said you didn't care one way or the other about it. Now, we have your comment about it not being anybody's business what your feelings are towards the candidates. Another "I don't care" statement, Mr. Thomas? And you're going to work with one, or two, new coucil members? What a way to put forth you best effort before you even start. Oh, and lets not forget the "pint size wanna be political critic" remark. Will this be another misunderstood comment taken out of context? Or did this caller just happen to catch you in a bad mood? What ever the case, Mr. Thomas, your antics and accompanying behavior is what we, the citizens of Hanford, want in our city council representatives. NOT!! "
