Annual Moon Festival Saturday in China Alley
By Sentinel Staff
Another fall tradition returns Saturday to Hanford, as the Hanford Taoist Temple Preservation Society presents the 29th annual Moon Festival at China Alley in downtown Hanford. Activities run from noon to 5 p.m., and admission is free to the public.
Entertainment runs from 2 to 4 p.m., and includes Cal Poly's Chinese Lion Dancers and Fresno Gumyo Taiko. There will be food and crafts booths on display, including the Hanford Bonsai Society. An added attraction is original origami art, highlighted by the 33,000 crane monument to Virginia Tech University and the new 33,000 crane American flag display.
Also, tea and cookies will be served in the garden, and tours of the Taoist Temple and Museum will be conducted for the public.
Keeping the event thriving are sponsors Mackey and Mackey, GWF Power Systems, Kings Federal Credit Union, and Griswold LaSalle Cobb Dowd & Gin, LLP Attorneys.
China Alley in downtown Hanford is located one-half block north of East Seventh Street, between Green and White streets.
Information: 582-4508.
