Leave our signs alone!

Editor: My husband and I live on the corner of a busy intersection. During this campaign we have had signs for both Dan Chin and Robin Mattos stolen from our yard not once or twice, but on four separate occassions. At one point (before we had Ms. Mattos' sign in our yard), Mr. Chin's sign was stolen and replaced with a sign for Mattos. I immediately called Robin Mattos who apologized profusley and told me she did not advocate such tactics. She went so far as to offer to go pick up another sign from Mr. Chin and deliver it to our home. We told her that wouldn't be necessary and had a long discussion about her views on local issues. We then invited her to leave her sign in our yard and she assured us she would call Mr. Chin to apologize for what had happened. We later confirmed that she did as she promised and called Mr. Chin. He also supplied us with another of his signs.

However, their signs continue to be removed without our permission. Whoever is doing this is practicing dirty politics and removing items from our property without our permission. Most people would call that theft and trespassing.

We would ask that people display their views in the own yards and not break laws just because they disagree with our views. In fact, if we should catch anyone removing anything from our property we will call the authorities and press whatever charges we can.

Please act like adults during this campaign and display your views on your own property as you see fit but leave our property alone.

" You go Robin! We need you on the council! "

" Robin has proven herself to be honest and sincere by her actions stated int he letter (something the City Council has been severly lacking in the past). A vote for Robin is a vote for a person who is truly concerned with this community and not her own selfish wants! "
