God hates all sin

Editor: All this uproar about gay marriage/sexual immorality is sexual immorality, it doesn't matter if it's fornication or homosexuality. God hates all sin. He doesn't distinguish between fornication, homosexuality or murder! To God, it's all sin. The gay community wants acceptance for their lifestyle; well, I'm sure they will receive that from the world but they will never receive it from God.

It's very clear in God's word, the Holy Bible, neither the sexually immoral (fornicators) or homosexuals will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. I Corinthians 6:9 says neither will murderers or thieves for that matter because it is all sin. That's not what I think, that's what God says and I believe it.

The gay community can deceive themselves and others but the fact is your lifestyle is an abomination to God. That doesn't mean that the Christian community hates you, it just means we as Christians are speaking out about it because it is wrong. God says it's wrong and that's good enough for me. By the way we also think sex between a man and a woman outside the boundaries of marriage is also wrong. Those people will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven either -- not my words, God's words. Bottom dollar is, God does not recognize a marriage between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. So go ahead and file your lawsuits and keep on deceiving yourselves, we'll be praying for you!

Dale Wedderburn

" If sex outside a marriage relationship is a sin, then I'd like to be the first to congratulate all twelve people who will make it to heaven this year.

If we follow Dale's logic, a five year-old who steals a piece of bubblegum is on equal footing with a murderer in God's eyes. Sorry junior.

Waaaaaaait a second, there's that whole "ask for forgiveness" thing. So go ahead, keep living like you do and say "I'm sorry" on your death bed and it's all good. "

liberalguy wrote on Nov 25, 2008 1:58 PM:

" Are you kidding me?? As someone who used to go to church and who was VERY involved, this makes me very sad. SO ANYONE who sins(steals, has sex out of marriage, murders, is gay, does not honor the sabbath, etc, etc, etc,) is not going to heaven? Then why did "god send his only begotten son sao that we shall not perish but have eternal life? Why do christians ask for god's forgiveness? If someone slips up and does something bad once or twice they are banned forever? So I guess a majority of the world is not going to heaven, because I am sure that a majority of people have had sex out of wedlock, have stolen something, and some of those may even be gay or have done both things. If what you are saying is true then there was is no point to asking for god's forgiveness, because it doesn't matter. You sin you are going to hell. It is beliefs like that that made me leave the church, if that is god's way then I want no part of it. What happened to unconditional love? "

Devils Advocate wrote on Nov 25, 2008 2:14 PM:

" I'm getting a lot of "hate the sin" from this letter, but not a lot of "love the sinner." Not saying he doesn't, just that there is a focus on the former without much expression of the latter.
I am every bit as guilty under God's law as the most flaming, debauched homosexual on the planet. But it is Christ's willingness to be a sinless sacrifice - to take our place - that shows his kindness, his willingness to love even those that tortured him to death. And its his willingness to take my deserved punishment that makes me desire to live the way he requires me to. Even so, my imperfection continues to manifest, despite my efforts and new desires.
So pray for me too, sir. Pray that I can express to homosexuals that Christ understands their difficult burden, and willing shed his blood to prevent their deserved destruction for giving into it. Just as he did for me for giving into mine. If I can't tell somebody they are wrong without telling them just as passionately there is healing for their brokenness, where is my love for them? "

" If what Dale says were true who would want to go to heaven? It would be a very boring and lonley place with no one living in it.

All that aside Mr. Wedderburn has forgotten that many people do not believe in his God, care about his God, worry about making it into heaven or believe in sin.

If all sins get you a one way ticket to hell then I will see Mr. Wedderburn there. He is casting judgement which is a sin this article also seems pretty close to wrath. Things are not looking good for Dale.

Oh yeah, no one is asking "God" to recognize anything so you can quit that nonsense. "

" Well put Dale - and sorry Alan, not everyone is out there sleeping around. As Christians, we are to be holy - 1 Peter 1:16. Not "holier than thou" or better than anyone else, but holy. Holy means set aside for a higher purpose. And Dale's logic does not mean that children who make childish mistakes will be punished. When you reach an age where you are accountable and responsible - that's another story. We are told the way is narrow. We get it Alan - you are not a believer - but why all the disrespect? "

Devil's Advocate wrote on Nov 25, 2008 4:49 PM:

" Alan G. & liberalguy - Somebody owes you an apology; the Bible says that we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. It also says there are none that seek after God, no not one. Even Christ said "Why do you call me good? There is none good but my father in heaven." The Apostle Paul relates that a person breaking even one point of the law is guilty of breaking the whole thing (like committing a "crime" makes you a "criminal", regardless of whether its theft, murder, etc). The Bible even says that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire.
God showed his mercy to us in that WHILE WE WERE SINNERS, Christ died for us. He calls us to repent of (meaning to turn away from) sin and live for Christ. It says unless you repent, you will perish. I can't speak to the validity of death bed confessions; not my place to even if I could - but I do know that THE central tenet of Christianity is that all of us need Christ because every last one of us are sinners! "

cynic wrote on Nov 25, 2008 4:51 PM:

" Dale is not being judgemental, he is quoting scripture. He points out that these are not his words - how did you miss that? God will be our judge. Scripture is the rubric by which we can compare ourselves - see where we can improve. We don't have to be perfect, just forgiven - as the tired, old (yet true) bumper sticker says. "

The Bible has some interesting concepts and values, but no one can deny the origin of the concept of 'Tough Love.'

Just ask Job et al... "

Alan G wrote on Nov 26, 2008 12:46 PM:

" Cynic - My point was that Dale omitted the part about forgiveness. The quotes he chose made it seem like one sin and you're out. Period!

Devil's Advocate did a better job qualifying Dale's quotes. "

If you are going to keep looking for the speck in everyone elses eye, you wont see the stick in your own.

If you don't believe in gay marriage...Don't marry a gay person!

George Carlin - there are probably alot of people doin time in hell for eating a hotdog on friday! "

They will never listen to the law or the majority of voters in our State.
They will continue to decorate their apartments with art deco and their cars with rainbow stickers.
We can't stop them.
But God can. "

" I will say..

God loves all and wants us all to come to him. There is no one that can keep the 10 commandments.. Not one! Because he looks into our hearts and even if our actions to everyone else gives the impression of living properly under Gods law, our heart will give way to our true nature... Sin. I dont care who you are, you sin. ALL have sinned. The Lord says to love the sinner and hate the sin. As a Christian, I will not judge because I have no idea of a persons situation or what thier own ideals are. As a Christian I belive sex outside of marriage is a sin, homosexuality is a sin, murder is a sin and I can go on and on about this sin and that sin but, I wont. Jesus died on the cross for all of OUR sins. If you accept him and believein him and ask for forgiveness You will be saved. He will work on your heart if you are sincere about it and pray for it. Dont forget... Love the sinner and hate the sin. "

NotHomeGrown wrote on Nov 29, 2008 1:05 PM:

" To all those that say love the sinner and hate the sin. I am all for that, that is why I voted Yes on Prop 8. How could I vote any other way if I am to hate the sin? If you voted No on Prop 8, then you are glorifying the sin. My position does not make me hater of anyone nor discriminate against anyone. If you don't tell me that you are gay, then how I am I to know that I need to descriminate against you? I have mentioned before that one of my longest lifetime friends is gay. I still acknowledge him as a friend and his claim to being gay does not detract one iota of my fond memories of the fun and friendship that we shared. But if he were to bring up gay marriage I would still have me belief that it is wrong, again hating the sin and not the sinner. "

I can read it now, you're all going to tell me it's all based on faith, right?! Well, I'm here to tell you, it's all up to each person to believe what they want. Period. "

Panzer wrote on Nov 30, 2008 11:34 AM:

" Your viewpoints do NOT represent Christian community at all sir and you are mistaken if you think you can point your finger in someone’s face and they will change the way they live JUST because YOU said too. That is PRIDE sir and will need to be looked at before entering the Gates of Heaven.
God is unchangeable. He has no emotions. Emotion (which has a physical component) does not have to be present in love. The life of the Holy Trinity is a community of love and that love is reflected in the creation, since everything that exists is a reflection of a quality in God.
God does not hate, Period.in the emotional sense that we usually understand it. God can be said to hate anything that does not jive with his purpose. He "hates" (REJECTS) sin, because it goes against his purpose. The sin and the AFFECTION (love of the sin pulls YOU away FROM HIM therefore; he will reject sin to bring you closer to him.
The Bible ascribes to God many human emotions: anger, jealousy, regret etc. This language is analogical: if God were human, this is how he would react. "

" To Liberal Guy, Slipping up and continually sinning are two different things. And to Dale, if you contirnue to read on inverse 11 it says: "And yet that is what some of YOU were." So the people in the early congregation practiced those sins but turned away from doing them. Its not that there is no forgiveness for them but they have to be repentant and turn away from practicing such sin. For you are right Mr. Liberal Guy that is why God sent his son so our sins will be forgiven. "

" If you’re a sinner then there’s a Doctor in the house for you. If you’re not a sinner, then you don’t need the Doctor.
This is what the Great Physician said: “They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” - Mark 2:17
So, to those of you who don’t believe in “our God,” that’s your choice. Have a nice life. But to those of us who admit our need of Him, He’s there, He loves us, He forgives us and He cleanses us from our sin every day. So to those of you who recognize you’re a sinner and want to turn away from those chains that bind you, Jesus is the answer.

Spoken by a sinner saved by grace. "

" .. heres a thought....
The Bible was written by a bunch of men. It has alot of great stories and there's a moral to each and every one of them. Does that make every store true, every single "fact" in the Bible is true? I believe in God, I have at least that much faith. but I keep it at that. I don't know any more than any of you.. I really hate when religions put each other down like either one of them knows the whole truth about our existence... I don't like having a bunch of opinions about religion because to me, that's what religions are... opinion.
I like to use my common sense and believing everything written in a book by men just like you and me is not using my common sense.

Bible and Politics don't mix... civil rights shouldnt be decided by your religious beliefs. if you don't approve of gay marriage, then don't marry someone the same sex as you. "
