Various public services will be affected by the New Year's Day holiday Thursday: City trash and recycling collection in Hanford will be pushed back one day. Thursday collections will take place on Friday, Jan. 2.

Bus Schedules

Kings Area Rural Transit buses will operate on a regular schedule, which means most buses will run every half an hour within the downtown areas of Hanford and Lemoore and regular routes between Hanford and other communities: Armona, Avenal, Corcoran, Fresno, Grangeville, Hardwick, Kettleman City, Laton, Lemoore, Stratford and Visalia.

Local governments

Hanford city offices, the Kings County Government Center as well as the Superior Court of Kings County will be closed Thursday.

Schools

K-12 schools will be closed. West Hills College Lemoore offices will be closed and reopen Friday. College of the Sequoias Hanford Center will be closed and reopen on Monday.

Others

All Kings County Library branches will be closed.

All U.S. Postal Service facilities will be closed, and there will be no mail delivery.

The state Department of Motor Vehicles office will be closed.

All banks will be closed.
