Kettleman City may receive medical clinic
By Eiji Yamashita eyamashita@HanfordSentinel.com
Kettleman City may soon have a permanent medical clinic. That's if the Board of Supervisors approves the public health department's request to lease out a county building to Central Valley General Hospital.
The poverty-stricken community of 1,500 located in a remote southwest part of Kings County has no permanent primary care providers, although the hospital currently provides medical services to residents through a mobile clinic.
On Tuesday, supervisors are scheduled to consider approving an initial agreement for the lease of the Kings County Clinic building in Kettleman City to the Adventist Health hospital, which runs indigent clinics across the county.
In other business, supervisors will hold a study session at 9:25 a.m. to discuss the county's master fee ordinance.
The Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Board Chambers, 1400 Lacey Blvd., Hanford.
The reporter can be reached at 583-2429.
