9 locals highlight county rosters

Hoops fans will get one final chance to see Kings County high school basketball players representing their schools.

Thursday's City/County All star game will include nine local athletes in what will be their final high school game.

The women's game will be at 5:30 p.m. with the men following at 7:30 p.m. at Clovis North High.

In the girls game, Hanford's Lacey Gibbons and Courtney Rose will join Kim Gomez of Corcoran on the County roster that is coached by Sanger's David Campbell.

There will be six Kings County athletes in the men's game.
Lemoore will be the most represented school on the county roster.

Tigers Cheyanne Alcala, T.J Johnson and Kameron Hoyt will play for the County.

County will also be coached by Lemoore head coach T.J. Wilkins. Participating from Hanford are Cougar Williams and DJ Maciel. Hanford West's Warren Moon will also play.

Tickets for the event are $8 for general admission and $5 for seniors and students.

Boys soccer

It took 20 minutes of overtime but the squad from the West won the Tulare-Kings County All star soccer game 3-1 Saturday at Lindsay High.

The West, which included players from Kings County, got all its goals from players outside of Kings County. West broke the 1-1 tie in overtime with two goals.

East forced overtime with a goal in the game's final 15 minutes.

West had taken a 1-0 lead early in the first half.
