TUESDAY'S PREPS: Tigers beat Monache in Div. II playoffs

LEMOORE - After splitting the six singles, Lemoore won two of the three doubles matches to outlast Monache 5-4 in the first round of the Central Section Division II tennis playoffs Tuesday.

The Tigers, the No. 7 seed in the tournament, will travel to face No. 2 Garces (Bakersfield) Thursday.

In singles, Tigers Sarah Reynolds, Kelli Ashby and Shannem Allado defeated Tiffany Camat (6-1, 6-1), Mercedes Alejandro (6-2, 7-5) and Allie Mejia (3-6, 75 (11-9) respectively.

The Lemoore doubles teams of Del Rosal and Ashby defeated Alejandro and Miller 4-6, 7-5 (10-5) and Lara Lontoc and Kylee Natale won at No. 3 doubles over Monache's duo 7-5, 6-1.

Monache's Jasmine Martinez beat Mallory Areias at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3; Kelly Agtarap beat Jennifer Del Rosal 7-5, 6-0 and Kallie Miller beat Khim Losenara 6-4, 7-5.

VOLLEYBALL

Lemoore 3, Mt. Whitney 0

LEMOORE - Kathleen Anderson had 16 kills, 3 aces and 3 blocks to help lead Lemoore to a 25-16, 25-9, 25-5 victory over the Pioneers to improve the Tigers' record in the West Yosemite League to 9-0 and 24-5 overall.

Tiffany Webb added 21 assists, 6 digs, 2 kills and a block; Jessica Sullivan had 4 kills and 3 blocks and Bridget Billingsley had 8 digs and 3 kills.

Beighly Ramirez had 10 digs and Caitlan Brassart added 4 digs and 3 aces.
