For the benefit of trick-or-treaters, Kings Speedway, on the grounds of the Kings Fair, will open the gates early Saturday for a full day of racing, featuring the Western All-Stars Late Models and the West Coast Sprinters.

It’ll be the final day of racing for the late models and the sprinters, with a double points race for the sprinters.

For this special one-day event, sign-ups begin at 10 a.m., with gates open at 1 p.m. A driver’s meeting will also be held at 1 p.m. Admission is $10.

The IMCA Stocks and Open Comp Modifieds will also compete on Saturday.

Bobby Hogge IV is just one green flag away from clinching his first coveted first career Western Allstars DIRTcar Late Model Series championship.

The Salinas driver has an 83-point lead over defending champion Chris Shannon of Merced. All the 32-year-old Hogge needs to do is start the race to clinch the trophy.

West Hills Lemoore fourth in tourney

VISALIA –Kelsey Acala shot an 86 as West Hills College Lemoore’s women’s golf team finished fourth in Thursday’s Central Valley Conference tournament at Valley Oaks Golf Club.

West Hills remains in fourth place in the league race, behind Fresno City College, Cañada (Redwood City) and Reedley, with College of the Sequoias taking up the rear heading into Tuesday’s regular season finale at Pheasant Run in Chowchilla.

Acala was joined in the scoring for WHCL by Beth Morton, 91; Meghan Loper, 107; Erica Montoya-Robles, 111; Kelly Simas, 115; and Trish O’Halloran, 119.
