Kids will be asking for more than candy
By Sentinel Staff
Trick-or-treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat — it’s Halloween again and the kids will be out in full force on Saturday evening.
This year, however, you may want to be equipped with more than just a bowl of candy.
Some students from area schools in both the Hanford Elementary and Lemoore Elementary school districts will be asking for donations rather than sweets — carrying on the 38-year tradition of the UNICEF project.
Kids from local schools will raise money to go toward UNICEF, whose purpose stands to “reach a day when zero children die from preventable causes.”
Last year students in the community raised nearly $10,000.
Don’t worry if you don’t have spare change lying around, they will take checks too. Just make them payable to: U.S. Fund for UNICEF.
