LOCAL GLANCE: Gilkey, Sayama lead Bullpups to win over Pioneers

Tess Gilkey had 26 kills, two aces and three blocks and Taryn Sayama added 35 assists, three aces and seven digs as Hanford won its regular season home finale over Mt. Whitney Tuesday night, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 25-27.

The win lifted Hanford to 5-6 in West Yosemite League play and 13-17 on the year heading into Thursday's match at Lemoore.

Also for Hanford, Bayli McClard had six kills, Billie Zack four kills, Sarina Sayama 12 digs and three blocks, Savannah Vasquez three kills and five blocks, Sydney Raeber 10 digs, and Andie Ramirez eight digs.

Alcala, Morton to NorCals

CHOWCHILLA - Beth Morton shot an 89 and Kelsey Alcala added an 88 to lead West Hills College Lemoore to a third-place finish in the final Central Valley Conference women's golf tournament of the year Tuesday at Pheasant Run Golf Course.
Both clinched a trip to next week's NorCal Regional tournament as well. Alcala ends the year with a season average score of 84.6, good enough for fourth place in the CVC, while Morton grabbed the 12th and last spot with an average of 89.6.

The NorCal tournament is Nov. 9-10 at Butte Creek Country Club in Chico.

Fresno City College had a score of 329 to clinch the league title and trip to regionals. Canada (Redwood City), the second-place team, also advances to NorCals.

Other scores for West Hills Lemoore include Kelley Simas, 102; Erica Montoya-Robles, 106; Meghan Loper, 112; and Trish O'Halloran, 112.
