Thanks to all for help

Editor: Too often we only hear about negative comments about a place. Today I would like to say thank you for all the help we received in Hanford.

A couple of weeks ago our Red Hat group, the Atwater Red Hot Flashers, decided to take a train trip and eat lunch at the ice cream shop that we saw on a TV show that had highlighted Hanford. Supposedly it was only a few blocks away from the train station.

When we arrived in Hanford it turned out to be a lot further than some of our elderly members could walk. Still thinking we could do it we pushed one of our gals in a walker seat which resulted in a fall. A man in a pickup saw it happen and jumped out and helped pick up the two who had fallen. A lady mail person also stopped and ran into the Community Medical Center clinic on Eighth Street and had them open the back door. The nurse in the clinic stopped the bleeding and cleaned and bandaged the two wounds. She then gave us the phone number of a local taxi. We all ended up having a great lunch. About half our grouped walked back for the train ride home and half took a cab.

What could have been a disaster on a cold rainy day turned out to be an adventure with a happy ending for all. We would like to say "thank you."

" Glad you had a great time in Hanford and everything worked out - too bad you couldn't have taken advantage of the fire engines to get around town - lots of school groups use them. Does anyone know who is in charge of the fire engines? Is it Chamber of Commerce or the Downtown Association? Come back again though! "

" Well, well, well, it looks like the gas money spent to shuttle Huell and the crew has paid off. There were naysayers. "
