Playoff start times announced

Start times and locations have been announced for this week's high school volleyball and water polo playoff games.

Tuesday, Hanford West's boys water polo team begins defense of its Central Section Division III title with a 5 p.m. game against Exeter at the Hanford West pool. The Huskies are the No. 2 seed in the bracket this year.

Hanford and Hanford West's girls teams will open Division III play on the road. Hanford West plays Garces at the McMurtrey swim complex in Bakersfield at 5 p.m. and Hanford play Tulare Union at Tulare Western at 6 p.m.

Also Tuesday, Lemoore's volleyball team plays North (Bakersfield) at 7 p.m.

Hanford's boys water polo team, the No. 1 seed in the Division II tournament, has a first round bye and opens the playoffs Thursday against the winner of Tuesday's game between No. 8 Edison and No. 9 Fresno.

Thursday's game will be played at El Diamante High School in Visalia. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
